Le rucher des prairies de la Mue

NAPI A0001842

l'abeille Noire, abeille locale.

The Apiary des prairies de la Mue is made up of 2 small apiaries in the town of Bretteville l 'Orgueilleuse, in Calvados near the landing beaches

A total of 10 beehives are installed. Our goal is to actively participate in the preservation of the Black Bee, a local bee.

The honey collected for the soap factory is only the surplus that the bees give us as an offering with which we collaborate and take care of them.

The propolis is collected on specific grids, once a year. Our beehives are not chemically treated in order to guarantee a high quality of the propolis. The propolis is collected for our needs in the apiary best protected from pollution. We trust Daniel Lesage, beekeeper in Brittany, to meet our additional needs in Propolis, when necessary,

Beeswax : we are consuming it more and more for soaps and cosmetics. Unable to meet our production needs, we supplement with certified organic French wax seal wax, guaranteeing high quality.

What do we mean by soft beekeeping?

  • beekeeping that takes into account the lunar and solar cycles

  • respect nature, bees. Healthy bees for healthy and abundant beekeeping materials

  • listening and understanding bees, feeling their needs, communicating with the small people of the hive

  • a beekeeper who talks with bees

  • hive visits only for a specific health or preventive objective

  • support for the dynamics of the bee colony over the seasons

  • no use of toxic chemicals for bees

  • study of the best location for the hive (exhibition, Hartmann network, biotype and biodiversity)

  • removal of surplus honey, only in supers

  • prohibited collection of pollen, essential nutrient for bees and their development

To feel deeply beautiful and balanced, it is necessary to collaborate with bees, our environment and human society in general. Bees nourish, but they also heal and beautify .

While honey has been known for multiple properties since the dawn of time, science is only very modestly interested in it. But we want to make you discover cosmetics with beehive products, and you will see for yourself the difference between natural product and natural product made with honey from the apiary! Our goal is to set up a bibliography to support our advice for each cosmetic product.

A biodiversity apiary to protect bees

In France, more than 30% of bee colonies disappear each year.

This ecological disaster is due to a combination of factors: diseases, mites, climate change, reduction in resources, pesticides ... This endangers the fragile balance of the ecosystem, since bees greatly contribute to pollination and the development of plants. flowers that nourish people and animals.

For each product purchased , Ambroise sponsors 6 local bees by installing them in WARRE biodiversity hives which are not intended for the production of honey and which are as close as possible to the living conditions of the "wild" bee.

Do you like nature and wild pollinators?

Together, let's create a biodiversity apiary

The idea is to explore ancestral techniques to find natural avenues to respond to biodiversity emergencies.

How to participate?

You like our products and you want to be a committed actor for biodiversity

For each product purchased , Ambroise sponsors 6 local bees by installing them in hives of

biodiversity which are not intended for the production of honey and which come as close as possible to

living conditions of the "wild" bee.

For 10,000 sponsored bees (ie 1,666 products purchased) we invest in a biodiversity hive.

This corresponds on average to 1% of the turnover achieved

.

You can also help us with the biodiversity apiary project:

- by providing us with one or more pieces of chestnut 60x50cm for the manufacture of trunk hives

- by offering us (in the Calvados) a suitable location for a biodiversity apiary

- your help in making trunk hives

- all your ideas for the protection of pollinators.

Info

The beehive-trunk, is hollowed out in a portion of chestnut trunk
This habitat is very close in the hollow tree where bee colonies nest spontaneously in the natural state.

The trunk hives still exist. There is also a national conservatory in France in the Haut-Tarn valley.
